Deep Creek Lake is located in the western most section of Maryland in the center of Garrett County. The center attraction to the area has been Deep Creek Lake since it was constructed in 1925 as a hydro power generation lake.

Deep Creek Lake is the largest fresh water lake in Maryland with over 60 miles of shoreline comprising 3300 acres of water. The area also enjoys the highest water falls in Maryland "Muddy Creek Falls", the only ski area in Maryland "Wisp Resort", and the oddity that our excellent whitewater rivers flow north and west to the Mississippi. The mountain elevations top out at just over 3000 feet so the nights are always cool in the summer and provide excellent snow ski, snowmobile and ice fishing conditions in the winter.
